THE NIMECHE DESIGN CHALLENGE
Background Information
I co-founded the NiMechE Design Challenge with my colleague in 2018.

Problem:
Training on the use of Computer-aided design and simulation technologies is deficient in Nigerian educational system. Times are reflecting the need for engineers who are proficient in using these magnificent engineering tools as they enable work to be done faster, with less effort and high accuracy. The Prof. Olorunmaiye design challenge is aimed at awakening the engineering geniuses amongst Nigerian students.

Solution:
We established a design and simulation competition for undergraduates. The platform has the following aims and objectives:
To stir up Engineering and Design creativity in Nigerian Engineering students.
To create a platform where engineering creativity can be presented, nurtured, developed, and rewarded.
To bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and practical engineering applications 
To enhance the competence level of young aspiring engineers.

Result:
Since establishing the platform in 2018, it has successfully hosted several competitions with hundreds of participants across various universities. It has proven to be an exciting avenue for undergraduates to develop their skills in engineering design and innovation.
